Abstract

The author Rousseau is distant in time, but his thought is central in the thesis and comments of philosophers, ideologues, historians, critics, over the last 300 years. This vast literature is littered not only of intelligent readings that have been able to appreciate and use the infinite problematic issues presented by the same author, but also of reductive stereotypes that have flattened a thought that, in our opinion, has been one of the most dense and articulated never planned. We believe in a permanent actuality of our author. Rousseau has been able to report the risks run by the democracy when it is emptied in demagogy.
