Among the names of contributors to the editions Laterza appeared figures or leaders of left and extreme left groups, scholars and researchers of various disciplines, as well as addresses of editorial policy, albeit far from the masses, were secondary school teachers and liberal academics. The same books, in fact, formed at the same time liberals, socialists and communists, idealists and materialists, all political and cultural figures central to anti-democratic era on the eve of World War II and then to the Democratic Puglia.
