Abstract

The discovery in the Colombina Library in Seville of a unknown and unstudied manuscript by the humanist Aurelio Serena from Monopoli (Bari) allows for a careful examination of the literary fashions in vogue in early sixteenth-century Roman cultural circles and an interesting investigation into the training and the poetry apprenticeship methods developed by teachers working in Rome at the time. The collection of a group of epigrams-elogia, which are published here for the first time, introduces us to the cardinals of the Curia of Leo X, providing interesting information on their personality and biography
