Abstract

The essay deals with the important role played by translation as powerful means of communication. Through the act of translating and thanks to the role of translators and mediators, a culture can be transferred from and to other cultures spreading knowledge and notions and influencing its evolution too. The process of translation is analyzed on different levels from the smallest to the biggest unit, as well as the main techniques using rethorical figures for meaning transposition are listed in order to explore the complexity of translation process.
