During the last few years many different policies have tried to reduce the pressure of tourism, but most are unsuccessful. Among the proposed measures to limit the damage of a "touristicization" over the places affected by tourism is the promotion of alternative forms of tourism such as rural, which allow the reduction of tourist pressure on the major centers and facilitate the dissemination of knowledge of different environments. The alternative tourism will determine, according to the prediction model, a wide diversification of tourism and the success of those alternative forms of tourism niche with a strong territorial characterization. The sustainable rural tourism is a form of exploitation of the rural territory that emphasizes environmental and cultural specificity, commonly summarized by the term "cultural heritage". Sustainable tourism in rural areas as it is based on local heritage is, therefore, linked to natural ecosystems such as the typical aspects that characterize the local communities heritage, traditional food and wine and, more generally, to the local culture. The paper aims to verify the effects of tourism in development of rural areas with a particular attention to farm tourism, food-and-wine and cultural routes.
This paper aims to demonstrate how the development of the port of Taranto has also generated distortions than the usual traffic such as, for example, the parallel importation of counterfeit goods and illegal. In recent years the Mediterranean Sea has confirmed its significance and historical importance in the maritime trade routes. Thus, some ports in the South Italy, like Taranto and Gioia Tauro, are benefiting from taking a new role, not only limited to the movement of goods, but if well defined, even crucial for urban development, as a result of direct investment and indirect. The increasing international spread of counterfeiting, such as unexpected effect of globalization is affecting all countries that produce more goods. The characters in this illegal activity, increasingly, make use of precise international trade routes and major ports of connection, including, of course, to Taranto. The analysis outlines the main features of this phenomenon.
The new programming period 2007-2013 in Apulia states the growing importance of tourism and cultural sectors, even more than in the recent past, such as driving forces for the regional economy, and in particular, the sub-regional territorial systems which for years have engaged in a synergistic process between public and private actors in the development and promotion of local resources. Another tool for the affirmation of cultural tourism districts as innovative territorial entities is represented by the Cultural and Environmental Systems, which mode of implementation of the POR FESR Puglia 2007-2013. They are aggregations of environmental and cultural resources of the area, well organized, be networked and managed by virtue of their ability to promote pathways integrated enhancement, sustainable development and inter-institutional cooperation. The work analyze the objectives of these territorial aggregations to verify, then, the "state of the art" and the repercussions on local communities.
Tourism contributes to the formation of 4% of European GDP, reaching third place for socio-economic importance after the trade and construction. Its potential is enormous, and for this reason the development of tourism future will increasingly have to consider the social, territorial cohesion and the protection of local cultures. Environmental quality and the enhancement of cultural, traditional and gastronomic, that is, all those resources specific to the area, are increasingly becoming a strategic variable to compete in increasingly globalized markets and standardized. Also for the economy of Galicia tourism is an important voice, contributing to 10% of GDP and 10% of the Autonomous Community. Santiago de Compostela is one of the Galician city at the confluence of major tourist flows. This paper aims to verify how the Galician government is implementing technology in tourism development strategies of the city of Santiago de Compostela, to enhance the attractiveness of cultural tourism.
