Simone Weil. Tra filosofia ed esistenza

Abstract

The character of Simone Weil, an original thinker and acute interpreter of her time, goes beyond the transient philosophical fashion and ephemeral cultural trends and stands out as one of the most intense and interesting personality of the last century. She has, in the course of her short life, reworked in a original way, her deep philosophical knowledge through a steady relationship with history and politics, at that time object of relentless thinking, but also of radical choices in which philosophy became the translation of a mode of existence. In this sense, hers was a real "philosophical life", since every theoretical, cultural or intellectual experience, came from events deliberately experimented and lived passionately. This inextricable intertwining of philosophy and existence, together with the sophistication of her theoretical analysis, the unusual ability to focus and deep interpretation, the uncompromizing ethics towards herself, the frantic search for the "absolute", have made made Simone Weil a key witness a tragic time of humanity that does not stop posing questions.
