Abstract

In the essaz I demonstrate that Ratzel's Lebensraum can itself be read as a biopolitical text because it contains something more than a pure description of darwinian strugle forlife, namely an imperative. I thereforeinterrogate Ratzel's Lebensraum in the light of Michel Foucault'stheory of biopower.
