INDAGINE SULLA DISTRIBUZIONE DELLE EMITTENTI TELEVISIVE LOCALI IN ITALIA

Abstract

From the 70s, italian local tv stations have been an important informative device and the issue to a need of plurality in communication. According to a survey made in 2009, an increased presence of Local TV Stations has been noticed in the south of Italy (a total of 285, compared to the 168 local broadcastings in the North and the 108 in the Centre). Among the Italian regions, Apulia holds the fourth place concerning the number of local tv stations, after Sicilia, Campania and Lazio. Apulia has a lot of tv aerials, 44 in total, due to its outstretched shape that may host just one transmitter. Bari is the first district with the highest number of tv stations (17 in total) but the district of BAT has the highest amount of tv stations if compared to the population: one single tv station every 55.929 inhabitants, for a total of 7 tv stations. Local televisions represent a powerful element for the business of Apulian small and middle enterprises and an important device of local information.
