Abstract

Among the many essays about the problem of the tribute of so-called Chinea appeared in the end of the eighteenth century assumes a prominent position the essay of Giuseppe Capecelatro entitled Discorso istorico politico. Unlike other contemporary writings on the subject, the speech was particularly opposed by the ecclesiastical world and had the distinction of suffering the condemnation of S. Congregation of the Index.
