The staging of digital model

Abstract

The architect, since the Renaissance, made use of drawing as a modeling technique of reality to communicate the project to the client, foreshadowing the design choices and to see what was to be the final work in his monumental aspects. It is certain that both the design and the model (physical or electronic) are iconic material which, according to C. S. Pierce, must to maintain a relationship of similarity with the referent, to be replication of reality perceived or probably imagined, isomorphic configurations similar in structure and form. If it is true that computer graphics allows us to prepare a "plastic model" naturally more manipulable than the physical model, how to make their subsequent representation, their staging, according to the whole arc of the possible points of view, which can add further value not merely describing the model, but to represent it as a useful summary of its overall significance? The experience of research consists in the composition of some of the illustrations on the repertoire of models of public housing, existing and to be realized, the IACP heritage of the province of Foggia.
