Abstract

The contribution, starting from a review of the concept of territorial identity, analyzes the role of territorial identity in local development processes with particular reference to rural areas. The contribution serves as an introduction to the other articles contained in the journal that focuses precisely on the relationship between identity and development in rural areas.
