Abstract

The terracotta tablets stamped with coin types show important evidence for the relations that existed between the territory of Tuder, to which Scoppieto belogs, and Sicily. The coin types can in fact be attributed to the Sicilian mints of Messana and Tindari, to which can be added those of Centuripe and Calacte, which inspired the symbols stamped on the altar identified as an offering in the sanctuary. It is supposed that they can be interpreted as moulds for making relief elements to be applied as decorations.
