Abstract

This is an entry, published within the Schnitzler-Handbuch, dedicated to the relationship between the writer Arthur Schnitzler and the authors of the Spätrealismus. From an analysis of the diaries, letters and works of the Viennese writer, are reconstructed readings, opinions and more generally the relationship with the possible literary models. Taken into account are, among others: C.F.Meyer, Th. Storm, G. Keller, Th. Fontane, F. von Saar, and P. Heyse. The state of research, perspectives and, in summary, the essential bibliography of reference are presented.
