Abstract

Psychological theories about the mechanisms underlying the development and origin of individual differences can be divided, broadly, as innate or cultural. This paper examines the evidences for the different models and takes as reference models the interactive epigenetic theories. In discussing their validity is further explored the concept of role, its importance in shaping the identity of groups and individuals, in recognition of its significant action as for identity recognition of ethnic minorities.
