Reading Disability and Educational Robotics Robin Project and User Needs

Abstract

The contribution presents the results of an exploratory survey conducted as part of the project Robotic Interaction system for visuo-spatial data presentation for effective learning, where the Center on new technologies for disability and inclusion of the University of Salento ( CNTHI ), is a partner scientific. Robin is a project of research and development in computer technology and robotics to support teaching pupils with dyslexia , which started in May 2013 with completion scheduled for June 2014. To date, concluded the first two phases aimed at the analysis and understanding of the needs of end users and the design of the model of interaction between the different actors involved on the tasks of strengthening teaching for pupils. The results of the FG ( focus groups) conducted on 5 different types of actors for a total of 67 people , allow us to draw a precise map of the needs, expectations and problems related to the use of ICT in the treatment and educational support to students with dyslexia in school context
