Abstract

In recent years, the rapid increase in using new technologie s, such as Internet and mobile phone, by all segments of the population, h as determined many benefits to their users. In particular, these tools favour ne w ways of communica- tion and social relations. On the other hand, an abuse of thes e technologies could determine adverse health effects (i.e. social isolation an d other forms of psycholog- ical disorders), especially on young people, which is consi dered to be high risk for pathological technologies use. Debates on the influence of behavioural disorders are common and several works have been produced in the last decades [3, 9]. In this paper, a case study on the use of Internet and mobile ph one among teenagers, is discussed. In particular, a questionnaire ha s been submitted to a sam- ple of students (398), aged between 11 and 13 years, in some sc hools of Lecce and Brindisi districts (Apulia Region). Multivariate analysi s has been applied in order to assess the relationships among behaviours and attitudes of teenagers with reference to the using of Internet and mobile phone.
