Abstract

<span class="tlid-translation translation"><span class="" title="">The present essay tries to investigate, from a fictional point of view, the Latin American and Venezuelan experience of Alexander von Humboldt from the analysis of the film Aire libre (1996), by Luis Armando Roche.</span> <span title="">In this film the director portrays and criticizes the Venezuelan reality before a historical moment of fundamental relevance for Venezuela and part of Latin America: the independence movement of Simón Bolívar, showing parallels with the Venezuelan context prior to the Bolivarian revolution of Hugo Chávez.</span></span>
