ALBUMIN NANOPARTICLES ENCAPSULATING GADOLINIUM AND METHOD OF SYNTHESIS THEREOF
Abstract
The invention relates to cross-linked albumin nanoparticles loaded with gadolinium, for example with GdCl3 or Gd-DTPA, characterized in that they have a controlled size comprised between 50 nm and 80 nm, and that the gadolinium molecules are encapsulated by albumin, without the presence of covalent or electrostatic bonds. The gadolinium thus encapsulated has a relaxivity value greater than the reference molecules currently used for MRI diagnostics. The method of synthesis of the nanoparticles of the invention is also described.
